Idaho colleges roundup: Boise State men's tennis wins MW quarterfinal

Thomas Tenreiro picked up his 16th consecutive victory as the Broncos beat Air Force 4-1 in the quarterfinals of the Mountain West Championship in Colorado Springs, Colo. Boise State (18-9) won the doubles point and picked up additional singles victories from Nathan Sereke and Garrett Patton. The Broncos will face UNLV in the semifinals Saturday. Boise State beat UNLV 5-2 earlier this season.

• Andy Bettles is the MW player of the year, and Sereke earned MW honors for singles. The two also made the all-conference doubles team.

BSU WOMEN'S TENNIS: Sandy Vo (singles), Manuela Pietzuch (doubles) and Marlena Pietzuch (singles, doubles) earned all-Mountain West honors.

BSU WOMEN'S GOLF: Fresno State (18-over 306) leads the Mountain West Championships, while the Broncos sit four shots back after the first day at the Dinah Shore Tournament Course at the Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage, Calif. Boise State senior Hayley Young carded a 3-over 75 and is tied for fourth going into the final two days.

IDAHO WOMEN'S TENNIS: The Vandals reached the semifinals of the WAC Championships with a 4-2 victory over Texas-Arlington. Fifth-seeded Idaho will face top-seed Denver on Friday.
