The body of a 67-year-old Mountain Home man and his vehicle were recovered Wednesday, the Elmore County Sheriff's Office said.

Russell Holsinger had been missing since April 12.

Elmore County officials said they received a call from the Owyhee County Sheriff's Office shortly after Elmore County issued a news release seeking information about the missing man. Owyhee County officials reported that a vehicle - later determined to be Holsinger's - had been recovered after being submerged at the Cottonwood Campground boat ramp.

An Elmore County detective was keeping details to a minimum late Wednesday. When asked whether Holsinger's body was found in or near his vehicle, she declined to provide that information.

Elmore and Owyhee County authorities and the Owyhee County Coroner's Office are investigating the cause of death. An autopsy was scheduled Thursday with the Ada County Coroner's Office.

Elmore County detectives are asking anyone who may have seen Holsinger or had contact with him in Owyhee County or at Cottonwood Campground to call the Elmore County Sheriff's Office at 208-587-2100 or the Owyhee County Sheriff's Office at 208-495-1154.
