Banner Bank reports profits compared to 2012 first quarter

Banner Bank reported a net income of $11.6 million at the end of the first quarter, a 61 percent increase over a year ago.

However, the first-quarter net income was down 13 percent from the $13.3 million reported at the end of the fourth quarter of 2012.

Banner Bank is the parent company of Banner Bank and Islander Bank with locations in Washington, Oregon and Idaho with holdings of $4.3 billion, according to a Monday press release.

The Banner stock price closed at $30.75 Wednesday, a 37 percent increase over one year ago.
