Idaho Tennis Hall of Fame to honor Appleton, others

The Idaho Tennis Association spring banquet will feature an induction ceremony for Steve Appleton, the former Micron CEO and Boise State player who died in a plane accident in 2012. The ITA will honor 16 additional individuals and organizations: Nancy Sommerwerk, Donnelly, Community Service; Dennis Gibbens, Pocatello, Steve Appleton "Extraordinary Service to Tennis;"; Neville family, Idaho Falls, Family of the Year; Caden Moortgat, Boise, Barbara Chandler "Junior Sportsmanship & Service;" Crane Creek Country Club, Boise, Organization of the Year; Sean Timoney, Twin Falls, Coach of the Year (10 and under); Randy Corbett, Boise, Diversity & Inclusion; Bill Fritz, Boise, Male Adult Player of the Year; Marilyn Parker, Boise, Female Adult Player of the Year; Reuben Mulhern, Boise/Borah High, Male Junior Player of the Year; Bianca Mok, Boise/Boise High, Female Junior Player of the Year; Gary Miller, Boise, Male League Captain of the Year; Marnie Newton, Boise, Female League Captain of the Year; Lyle Pearson Labor Day Championship, Sun Valley, Tournament of the Year; Hunter Elementary, Meridian, Elementary School of the Year; and Shelley Lane, Boise, Instructor of the Year.
