Idaho colleges: C of I hires former UCLA assistant for basketball job

Scott Garson is the new head men's coach at the College of Idaho, the Los Angeles Times reported Tuesday. A source confirmed the yet-to-be-announced hire to the Idaho Statesman.

Garson was on the UCLA staff for nine seasons, the past seven under coach Ben Howland, who was fired last month. Garson also has coached at Utah and Pepperdine. He replaces Rod Jensen, who went 38-51 in three seasons at the NAIA program in Caldwell. He was fired March 22.
