April 23, 2013

An Ada County jury has found Jeffery Alan Baker, 53, of Boise, guilty of first degree murder in the death of his daughter in 2010.

Gracelynn Baker, who was 11 weeks old, died from abusive head injury while she was alone with Baker at his Boise home.

The jury heard two weeks of evidence and deliberated for six hours before returning the guilty verdict Monday evening. Baker will be sentenced in July. The penalty for first degree murder is a life sentence with a minimum of 10 years served before parole eligibility.

Baker is currently serving a sentence for forgery at the Idaho Correction Center.
