Mountain Home airman found dead Sunday; cause under investigation

An airman who is part of Mountain Home's 366th Fighter Wing was found dead Sunday morning, according to a release from base officials.

His name is not being released until his family is notified. No details on the circumstances of the airman's death were released, other than that he was found at his home.

The commander's comments in the release:

"Today we lost a valued member of the Gunfighter family," Col. Chris Short said. "The Air Force is a close-knit family and the loss of one of our own affects us all. We understand this was a very tragic occurrence and our sympathy goes out to his family, friends and coworkers during this tough time. His professionalism and dedication to the Gunfighter family will not soon be forgotten."
