High Country Fusion will receive the Idaho Exporter of the Year award from the Small Business Administration.
The Fairfield-based company manufactures and fuses industrial pipes and fittings as well as other large-scale custom fabrications.
The company topped $3.2 million in exports in 2012, about 85 percent of which went to Australia, said Steve Wilson, President and CEO.
Wilson founded the company in 1994 with President of Operations David Hanks. The business started with three employees working in a Fairfield Warehouse. Today, 40 employees work in warehouses in Nampa, Salt Lake City, Dickinson, N.D. and the original Fairfield headquarters.
High Country Fusion was selected from more than 30 Idaho businesses nominated for the award, said Larry Demirelli, spokesman for the Small Business Administration.
Wilson said the award was a credit to his employees.
Im excited to see how it will help us move forward in (exporting) efforts, Wilson said. Im humbled because were just a local yokels in Fairfield, Idaho.
