Shawn B. Merrell, 32, of Caldwell was in the Baker County County Jail Thursday after Oregon State Police say they found marijuana in his car.

Police said Merrell was stopped for speed and equipment violations Wednesday night on eastbound Interstate 84 near Baker City, Ore. That's when police say they found about 4 pounds of marijuana, hash and hash oil in the car's trunk. Officials estimate the value of the seized pot to be $10,000.

Merrell was charged with unlawful possession and delivery of a controlled substance (marijuana) and booked into the jail.

The investigation is ongoing, and is being conducted by the OSP Drug Enforcement Section.
