Fresno State continued its dominance Sunday, defeating BSU 3-1 in Fresno, Calif. The Broncos (17-22-1, 1-5 MW) threatened in the seventh inning but couldn't capitalize, leaving the bases loaded. All of the runs scored in the game were unearned. Holly Bourke and Devon Bridges each delivered two-hit games for the second-straight day, and BSU outhit Fresno State 8-5. The Broncos begin a six-game homestead Friday, when they host San Diego State.
BSU MEN'S TENNIS: The Broncos secured a second-place finish in the Mountain West with a 6-1 victory over Fresno State in Fresno, Calif. BSU (16-9, 3-1 MW) won five of six singles matches, including Andy Bettles' 20th win of the season. Bettles has now won 20 or more matches in each of his three seasons at BSU. Thomas Tenreiro picked up his 14th straight victory. His streak is the longest of any Bronco this season. BSU's regular-season finale is Friday at home against Nevada.
BSU WOMEN'S TENNIS: The Broncos (13-7, 4-2 MW) swept Air Force 7-0 in Colorado Springs, Colo.
BSU TRACK & FIELD: The Broncos earned five titles Saturday at Weber State's Wildcat Invitational in Ogden, Utah. For the women, Taryn Campos won the 400 meters in a career-best time of 55.39 seconds, and Lauran Johnson won the triple jump (38 feet, 6.75 inches). On the men's side, Daveon Collins won the 100-meters (10.54-seconds), Justin Malnes won the 110 hurdles (14.61) and Kyler Osborne tied for first in javelin (177-5).
