The Idaho Steelheads added rookie goaltender Joe Howe to their roster on an amateur tryout contract Thursday.
Howe, who just finished his fourth season at Colorado College, was added to the roster under the "emergency conditions" clause of playoff rosters, which allow a team to add a goalie if it only has one active goaltender available.
That was the case after rookie netminder Josh Robinson was called up to Texas of the AHL on Wednesday.
That leaves Tyler Beskorowany as Idaho's starter heading into Friday's Game 6 of its playoff series against Colorado. Beskorowany is 2-0-0 in the series, although he was pulled after the first period of a Game 5 loss.
