St. Luke's Health System will open a new medical imaging center adjacent to its Meridian hospital Monday.
Located at the Portico West building, 3277 E. Louise Drive, the center will provide medical imaging services in an outpatient setting. The center is 10,000 square feet and will provide services that have previously been offered in the hospital setting. Nine employees were added to staff the center, St. Luke's said.
The center includes MRI equipment that provides much finer detail than is available with the hospital's existing MRIs. It also includes ultrasound, X-ray, bone density and PET-CT scan equipment, among other tools.
"The availability of this new technology is part of our continued efforts to bring the community the latest advances in imaging and is consistent with our mission of improving the health of people in our region," said Chris Roth, St. Lukes Treasure Valley CEO.
The Meridian Chamber of Commerce will host a ribbon-cutting and open house for the center at 4 p.m. on Friday.
