The John Hynes Memorial Owyhee Fun Run is Saturday, April 13 at the Rabbit Creek OHV parking area about one mile north of Murphy on Idaho 78.
The event is a noncompetitive, poker-style ride for dirt bikes and ATVs and suitable for all ages.
Courses are set up in the surrounding desert and mountains for all abilities, but riders should have some experience in desert and trail riding.
Entry fee is $20 for individuals and $40 for families.
Signups are at Rabbit Creek parking lot from 8 to 10:30 a.m. The first dirt bikes leave at 9 a.m. and ATVs follow at 9:30 a.m.
Awards will be handed out at 4 p.m., and riders are eligible to win prizes.
Dirt bikers have the option of the long course, a 60-mile loop, or the 27-mile loop that will also be used by ATV riders.
The ATV course is open to vehicles less than 50 inches wide, so wider side-by-side ATVs are not allowed on the course.
Riders must be at least 7 years old, and all minors must be accompanied by a parent.
All ATVs and dirt bikes participating in the ride must have a current OHV sticker, which will be available at the event parking area.
Bikes and ATVs must also have spark arrestors, and pass a sound test for decibel levels.
