Shawn D. McFarlane, 44, was jailed less than a week in March on a litany of sex charges, including sexual abuse, sexual battery and making illegal sexual recordings of a 16-year-old, before posting a $100,000 bond.
On Friday morning, McFarlane was arrested again and accused of more sex crimes: four counts of felony sexual battery of a minor, two counts of felony sexual abuse of a minor and two counts of misdemeanor disseminating of materials harmful to minors. His new bond is set at $250,000, Ada County Sheriff's spokeswoman Andrea Dearden said.
Some of the new charges are related to incidents that occurred in March, as did the original charges against McFarlane. Others stem from a report to Boise Police in 2011, spokeswoman Lynn Hightower said. The 2011 incidents involve a second victim, Hightower said. The victims and McFarlane know each other personally, though the nature of their relationships are unclear. The victims are receiving support through the Boise Police Department Victim Services Unit, according to a police news release.
If he's convicted of sexual battery, McFarlane faces up to life in prison.
