"It's wet," says Dakota Lotero, 16, top photo, stating the obvious and aiming for the puddles as Bogus Basin closed on Sunday with a high temperature of 60 degrees. "But you can't really ask for more. Bluebird (skies), sun shredding with friends. It's a great closing day for me."
As is traditional, closing day attire ranged from formal (note Dakota's tie) to skimpy to frivolous. Samantha Ward, 11, right, dressed like a bee, and Carli Buzzard, 12, left, got free cocoa for her Easter bunny attire.
The resort closed with 240,000 skier visits, about 80 percent of normal, said General Manager Alan Moore. "We had a lot of good days, a lot of sunshine, but we were a bit snow-challenged. ... We did a lot with a little."
