Stampede forward Justin Holiday was wearing a big smile after Idaho's 108-95 victory over the Bakersfield Jam on Saturday night.
That smile got even wider when his agent called him after the game to tell him he had been called up to the Philadelphia 76ers.
Holiday's brother, Jrue, is a member of the 76ers, and was named to this year's All-Star team.
Perhaps he put in a good word for his brother?
"Who knows? I'm sure my brother talked to them about it, but I think I've played well enough to be up there," said Holiday, who was told he would sign a contract for the remainder of the season.
Holiday, who has played in 47 of Idaho's 48 games, is the first Stampede player to be called up in-season since the 2009-10 season.
"I'm very excited," he said. "I don't know what to say about it right now."
The 76ers are 30-43 and in ninth place in the Eastern Conference.
