The Broncos rolled to another win Friday, topping regional rival Utah State 7-0 at Appleton Tennis Center. It's the 28th consecutive home victory for Boise State and eighth straight overall. Andy Bettles won 6-1, 6-1 for his 12th straight victory, while Thomas Tenreiro won his 11th straight match 6-0, 6-2.
BSU TRACK & FIELD: The Broncos split up to compete at four different meets this weekend. Here are some highlights:
Jordin Andrade broke a school record in the men's 400 meters (50.71 seconds) at the Texas Relays, placing third.
Daveon Collins clocked the third-fastest outdoor 200-meter time in school history (20.78) for a victory at the Bobcat Invitational at Texas State.
At San Francisco State's Distance Carnival, Rici Morrill won the women's 1,500 meters (4:33.52) and Tessa Murray won the women's 5,000 meters (16:39.76) with a meet record.
Zach Wiles had the top finish in the 3,000-meter steeplechase section two (8:54.13) at the Stanford Invitational.
COLLEGE OF IDAHO BASEBALL: Riley Humberger hit a two-out, two-run single in the bottom of the seventh inning to lift the Coyotes past Lewis-Clark State College 3-2 in the Gem State World Series in Caldwell. It was the first win for the C of I (17-12, 8-5 NAIA West) over LCSC (24-8, 10-3) at Wolfe Field since 2009.
C OF I TRACK & FIELD: Three Coyotes set school records at meets in California. At the Stanford Invitational, Hillary Holt won her heat of the 1,500 meters (4:18.82), and Sora Klopfenstein placed eighth in the 3,000 steeplechase (10:45.94), becoming the first C of I woman to break the 11-minute barrier. At the San Francisco State Distance Carnival, Greg Montgomery placed third in the 5,000 (14:06.06).
NORTHWEST NAZARENE BASEBALL: The Crusaders rallied in both games of a doubleheader, beating Saint Martin's 8-7 and 8-7 in Nampa. Tate Glasgow hit a two-run walk-off home run in the nightcap for NNU (12-15, 6-8 GNAC).
