U.S. Davis Cup captain Jim Courier on Tuesday named the four-man team he will use against Serbia in the quarterfinal tie next week at Taco Bell Arena.
World No. 20 Sam Querrey and No. 23 John Isner will play singles and No. 1 team Bob Bryan and Mike Bryan will play doubles.
Theyll face No. 1 Novak Djokovic, No. 44 Viktor Troicki, No. 338 Ilija Bozoljac and No. 19 doubles player Nenad Zimonjic.
The expected singles matchups are Querrey-Troicki and Isner-Djokovic on April 5 and Querrey-Djokovic and Isner-Troicki on April 7. The Bryans likely will face Zimonjic and Troicki on April 6, but its possible the Serbians will slip Djokovic into that match as well.
The order of the Friday matches (1:30 p.m., Tennis Channel) will be determined by draw. The Querrey-Djokovic match will lead off Sunday (noon, Tennis Channel). Saturdays doubles match begins at 1 p.m. (Tennis Channel).
The first nation to win three best-of-five matches wins the tie and advances to the semifinals.
This is the third straight Davis Cup tie featuring the same four U.S. players, who beat Brazil in February in Jacksonville, Fla.
Theyre becoming our go-to squad at the moment, Courier said. Its a very offensive-minded team. We have four guys that are pretty tall, big servers in general big, offensive players who can compete and can beat anyone on tour.
Three-day ticket packages range from $90 to $500 and are available through idahotickets.com.
