A tree that was weakened from an agricultural burn fell onto a vehicle traveling on Black Cat Road near Kuna Sunday, smashing through the windshield and causing minor injury to the driver, according to the Ada County Sheriff's Office.
The driver suffered a minor injury to his hand, said sheriff's spokeswoman Andrea Dearden. The three passengers in the car, an adult and two children, were not injured. The group was from out-of-state, Dearden said.
The accident happened after 2 p.m. Sunday on Black Cat Road, north of Kuna Road. The car was traveling 40 to 50 mph when the tree fell on it.
Dearden said sheriff's deputies worked with firefighters to check other trees along the road. They cut down three others that appeared weak.
