Alexi Micinski earned her first World Cup victory by winning the slopestyle at the World Cup finals in Sierra Nevada, Spain.
Micinski, 18, a rookie on the tour, reportedly won the event on borrowed skis after a luggage issue.
"It's pretty awesome," Micinski said. "This is my first big win, and it's just really exciting to finally get on top of the podium."
Micinski entered the event 34th in the slopestyle standings after placing 15th at Copper Mountain, Colo., in January.
Micinski attended Rocky Mountain High until moving to Park City, Utah, last fall. She'll compete as a member of the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association rookie team for the FIS Freestyle Junior World Championships this week in Valmalenco, Italy,
