Nampa police were called to a house on Neil Scott Drive in Nampa at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. A woman who lived at the home had called from a neighbors house after a domestic dispute. She told them a man was inside the house. When police arrived, the man refused to come out. Police learned that the man had a handgun and was threatening to harm himself.
Sgt. Tim Randall of the Nampa Police Department said the police evacuated nearby houses and called in their tactical response team. They were able to make contact with the man and convince him to come out of the house. They took him to a local hospital for observation.
Residents were allowed to return to their houses Saturday afternoon.
Police are still investigating the domestic dispute that started the incident, said Randall. They did find a handgun at the scene. Charges are pending.
