The store will open sometime in 2014 on the lot southeast of the Capitol Boulevard-Front Street intersection, said Alison Mochizuki, a spokeswoman for Trader Joe's.
"Its a wonderful community," Mochizuki said of Boise. "Its a wonderful food town with a lot of foodies."
Mochizuki did not say when in 2014 the company expects Trader Joe's to open, or when construction will start.
Trader Joes is a popular speciality chain headquartered in California that sells mostly its own brands, including its Two Buck Chuck wine. The store has long been on many Boise shoppers wish lists.
Plans for the Trader Joes development call for three smaller stores, including a 2,500-square-foot drive through, in addition to the roughly 13,000-square-foot Trader Joes building on the Capitol-Front lots northwest corner. Its unclear if Hawkins Companies, which owns the development, has signed leases with tenants for the smaller stores.
