Boise State men's basketball falls in NCAA Tournament to La Salle

FINAL: La Salle 80, Boise State 71. Boise State’s season came to an end with an 80-71 loss to the La Salle Explorers on Wednesday night in Dayton, Ohio. The Explorers shot a season-best 63.3 percent from the field, making 31-of-49 shots. They shot 72.7 percent from the field in the second half (16-of-22). "We tried zoning them, we tried trapping them, we tried pressing them," Boise State coach Leon Rice said. "They did a nice job of keeping their poise, and they kind of had an answer for everything we did." Anthony Drmic had a Boise State NCAA Tournament record with 28 points. The Broncos end the season 21-11. La Salle will face Kansas State on Friday in Kansas City, Mo. HALFTIME: La Salle 35, Boise State 27. The Broncos were able to shoot fairly well in the first half, making 11-of-21 shots (52.4 percent), but had nine turnovers that led to 14 Explorer points — plus the Explorers shot 55.6 percent from the field (15-of-27). Anthony Drmic leads Boise State with 11 points, while Tyrone Garland has 10 points for La Salle.
