Amanda R. Sheets is being held in the Ada County Jail on a felony charge of sexual battery of a minor between the ages of 16-to-17 after police say she had illegal sexual contact with a teenager at a West Boise home in January 2012.

Boise police began their investigation into the 27-year-old Sheets after getting a call from a third party on Feb 29. Police say Sheets and the teen are known to each other.

Police turned over the results of that investigation to Ada County prosecutors, who issued an arrest warrant for Sheets earlier this month.

Sheets was booked into the jail just before 6 p.m. Tuesday.

The crime of sexual battery of a minor between the ages of 16-to-17 is punishable by up to 25 years in prison.
