Home sales in February totaled $98 million in Ada County, up 18 percent from February 2012; and $22 million in Canyon County, up 0.2 percent. New homes commanded higher prices, but existing homes still made up most of the dollar volume for the month.
There were hot spots, lukewarm spots and dead zones. No houses changed hands in Wilder and Greenleaf, and only one sold in Garden City. The hottest area may have been Northwest Meridian, where one in every seven of Ada County's sales occurred, and where the median price for a new home was $310,600. Meridian as a whole headed for spring with more than 100 sales and $200,000-range median prices.
