Boise-based WinCo Foods plans to open a new supermarket Sunday at 1030 Yellowstone Ave. in Pocatello.
The store is almost 98,000 square feet and replaces an older 42,000 square foot store on Pocatello Creek Road. The new store will employ about 210 individuals, 101 of whom transferred from the closed store.
The Spokesman-Review reported Sunday that a WinCo Foods supermarket is proposed as the anchor for a 17-acre retail center in Coeur d'Alene. The store would open in early March 2014, according to the Spokesman-Review.
WinCo Foods is an employee-owned company founded in 1967 in Boise. It currently employs more than 14,000 people and operates 87 stores and four distribution centers in Idaho, Washington, Nevada, California, Oregon, Arizona and Utah.
