Steelheads edge Aces again on the road

Jace Coyle scored on Tyler Gron's centering pass early in the third period and Josh Robinson made a handful of key saves down the stretch as Idaho held off Alaska 4-3 late Friday night in Anchorage.

Idaho (41-17-7, 89 points) now has a 5-1 record against the Aces, the ECHL's top team.

Austin Smith scored his team-leading 25th goal of the season, rookie John Ryder scored his first professional goal, and Gron and Justin Taylor rounded out Idaho's scoring. Robinson stopped 36-of-39 shots.

Idaho wrapped up its series in Alaska on Saturday night. The game was not complete at press time.
