The Centennial Patriots and Sandpoint Bulldogs battled it out for top scores in the Idaho Academic Decathlon’s 29th annual competition held Friday and Saturday in Boise.

Centennial bested Sandpoint in the large school division by a score of 42,285 to 39,377. Both teams will advance to the United States Academic National Finals in Minneapolis, Minnesota in late April.

In the medium school size division, Preston edged Renaissance High School of Meridian by a score of 32,864 to 31,869.

In the small school division, Wilder placed first over Victory Charter School and Shoshone High School. Wilder had 31,169 points, Victory Charter had 29,614, and Shoshone had 29,566.

By virtue of the championships, Preston and Wilder will represent Idaho in an online national competition at the same time as the USAD nationals. Jerome will be the large school representative for the online competition.
