Idaho colleges roundup: College of Idaho snowboarder claims another crown

McKinley Carbone placed 12th in the snowboard giant slalom Sunday, and it was enough to earn the combined national title. Carbone, a sophomore, also won titles in slopestyle and snowboardcross this week at the USCSA National Championships at Dollar Mountain in Sun Valley. Carbone teamed with Sarah Silva to earn third-place in the team snowboard combined standings. The women's alpine team placed third overall in the dual slalom national championship. And on the men's side, Zach Tomlinson earned second-team All-American honors in the freestyle combined.

BOISE STATE MEN'S TENNIS: Stanford edged the Broncos 4-3 in Stanford, Calif. BSU (6-8, 1-1 MW) got wins from Andy Bettles, Filipp Pogostkin and Thomas Tenreiro as well as the doubles team of Bettles and Nathan Sereke.

NORTHWEST NAZARENE WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: The Crusaders earned a berth as a No. 7 seed in the Division II Tournament Sunday. NNU (20-8) will face No. 2 seed and GNAC opponent Simon Fraser (23-5) in the West Regional at 3:30 p.m. MDT Saturday in Bellingham, Wash. NNU and Simon Fraser split conference games this season, with the home team winning each time.
