POCATELLO - Tomas Sanchez scored with 6.2 seconds remaining to lift Idaho State to a 72-71 win over Portland State on Saturday night.
Portland State led 71-70 when Dre Winston missed the front end of a one-and-one with 19.8 seconds remaining in the game. Andre Hatchett grabbed the rebound for Idaho State (6-24, 5-15 Big Sky) and Melvin Morgan missed a shot for the Bengals but Neveij Walters got the rebound and dished to Sanchez for the game-winner.
Chris Hansen led Idaho State with 16 points, Hatchett added 13, Sherrod Baldwin had 11 and Morgan finished with 10.
IDAHO 76, SEATTLE 72: Kyle Barone had 27 points and 12 rebounds as the Vandals rallied from a halftime deficit to win in Moscow. Mike McChristian added 26 points and seven assists for Idaho (12-17, 7-11 WAC), which faces New Mexico State in the conference quarterfinals Thursday.
