Boise police: Driver shot self fatally while driving

Published: March 9, 2013

Officers responding to a single-car crash Saturday afternoon at the intersection of Hummel Drive and Camas Street in Boise believe a self-inflicted gunshot wound caused the driver to lose control, drive through a yard in the neighborhood and crash into a fence.

The driver died at the scene.

Boise Police spokeswoman Lynn Hightower said she didn't know whether the driver was a man or woman.

Because officers believe the incident was a suicide, they refused to release further details.

People or family members of people who could be at risk for mental or emotional crisis should know help is available. For hope and helpful resources, call 1800-273-TALK.
