Investigators believe more than one person is responsible for shooting and killing three sheep in a Star pasture earlier this week. Ranchers who own livestock on land near the intersection of Joplin Road and N. Star Road reported one of the killings Tuesday morning after finding a sheep that had been shot in the head at close range. The owner of the sheep found two more sheep shot and killed in the same way overnight Thursday. According to an Ada County Sheriff's news release, the owner said the sheep were being raised for students in 4-H. The value of each sheep was estimated at $250, according to the release. Investigators believe the people who killed the sheep walked on to the property to get close to shoot the animals at close range. It is a felony to enter someone's property and destroy livestock. The Sheriff's Office is asking anyone with information to call Detective Marc Bowman at 577-3704.
