Trout Unlimited presents fly-fishing author

The Ted Trueblood Writer Series will return Wednesday, March 13, at the Owyhee Plaza Hotel, 1109 Main St., Boise. It will feature Idaho author and fly-fishing guide Boots Allen who wrote "Snake River Secrets: One River, Two Very Different Streams." Tickets for the event are $5 at the door, and the raffles and silent auction items will support the club. There will be an optional dinner for $35. Group holding national event in Boise

The Backcountry Hunters and Anglers national event is March 22-24 at the Boise Hotel and Conference Center, 3300 S. Vista Ave, Boise. The keynote speaker is former NFL player Jason Hairston, a backcountry outdoorsman and founder of Sitka and Kuiu outdoor clothing. The event includes how to do backcountry hunting and fishing trips, advocacy, auctions and raffles, and more. Register by March 12; go to backcountryhunters.org.
