Hearing for Boise road rage shooting suspect moved back to April

Shawn N. Fisher

ADA COUNTY JAIL

Boise police continue to say Shawn Nathan Fisher remains a person of interest in the fatal shooting of Matthew Mohler-Kerns, who was found dead in his car on Franklin Road the night of Feb. 19.

Fisher is in the Ada County Jail on $500,000 bond for felony counts of aggravated battery, aggravated assault, and use of weapon in the commission of a felony after police say he intentionally drove his car into another car and then fired one shot as part of a road-rage incident at the same time, in the same general area, where Mohler-Kerns was killed.

The victim in that case lives in the same apartment building as Fisher, near the Vista Avenue/Canal Street intersection, and was not hurt, despite his car being rammed into and shot at, according to police reports.

A preliminary hearing on the hit-and-run/shooting case was supposed to happen Wednesday, but that hearing was moved back to April 17 to give lawyers more time to work on the case.
