Fire ripped through a trailer home in Garden City Sunday afternoon, destroying the house and sending a large amount of smoke into the air. No one was injured in the blaze, and neighboring structures were not damaged, said Boise Fire Captain Glenn Lacy.
The fire was reported at 2:45 p.m. in the 200 block of West 37th Street. It was reported by a neighbor, an Ada County dispatcher said.
Lacy said the power and gas had been shut off to the residence, and it appeared to be vacant.
"It was fully involved when we arrived," Lacy said. Strong winds accelerated the fire, which filled the neighborhood with smoke. Police shut down 37th Street to traffic.
Firefighters were at the scene until about 5 p.m. Now an investigator is looking for the cause of the fire, which was deemed suspicious.
