HUNTING

F&G to host online chat on big game seasons

Changes are proposed for 2013 hunts in Idaho's Southwest Region, and hunters can chat with wildlife biologists from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 5. Wildlife managers also will be on hand to answer questions and take comments.

To participate, go to the Fish and Game website, fishandgame.idaho.gov, and click on the link. Proposals include:

• Mule Deer - Reducing antlerless hunting opportunities in Unit 39. A second proposal calls for reducing antlerless hunting in Units 22, 31, 32 and 32A.

• Elk - Reducing antlerless hunting in Unit 39, while a second proposal calls for increasing antlered hunting opportunity in Unit 41.

• Pronghorn - A controlled youth-only archery hunt in Unit 39 with a maximum of five tags available.

• Wolves - A wolf trapping season on private land only in Unit 22.

Comments also will be taken at public meetings at 4 to 7 p.m. March 6 at the Weiser High School Library in Weiser; 4 to 7 p.m. March 7 at the McCall Fish and Game office, 555 Deinhard Lane; and at 7 p.m. March 18 at the commission meeting at F&G headquarters, 600 S. Walnut St., in Boise.
