The conference prohibited Boise State from wearing its all-blue uniforms on the blue turf the past two seasons as part of the Broncos' membership agreement. That rule was rescinded for 2013. Now the NCAA wants to require teams to wear pants or jerseys that contrast with the playing surface.
The proposal goes to the Playing Rules Oversight Panel on March 6. Mountain West Commissioner Craig Thompson on Tuesday sent a letter to the NCAA on Boise State's behalf. You can read the entire letter at blogs.idahostatesman.com/broncobeat. Thompson argues the rule change "would most certainly be damaging to the Boise State University brand."
