Ducks seemed very appreciative of their leftover bread, says Cierra Allen as she and her daughter, Willow, almost 2 years old, feed the winter residents after a overnight snow blanketed the city Saturday. This was Willow's first duck-feeding at Ann Morrison Park.

Snow showers are expected to hit the Boise area between 9 a.m. and noon Monday, according to the National Weather Service. It's likely to melt fast, as the high temperature is forecast to be about 43.

How much snow is expected? About a half inch.

Boise recorded just under an inch Saturday — .8 inches to be exact — and most of that melted away, thanks to a high temperature of 44. Winds were strong, peaking at 39 mph.

The high Sunday was 42. Temperatures will drop into the upper-20s early Monday, and a system from the northwest will drop snow in the morning. That will turn to a rain-snow mix in the afternoon.

Bogus Basin was blessed 8 inches of snow since Friday, and the ski area will likely get another 2 to 3 inches Monday, said National Weather Service meteorologist Joel Tannenholz.
