Traffic on State Street near Idaho 55 is back to a normal flow after being blocked for several hours Thursday morning near Parkinson Street intersection while Ada County Sheriffs deputies investigated a car crash involving a mini-van and sedan.
A 5-year-old girl was thrown from the mini-van during the crash but sheriffs officials say it appears no one has suffered any life-threatening injuries.
Deputies say a mini-van with a 35-year-old female driver and three kids inside (ages 13, 5, and 3) was turning east on to State Street from Parkinson Street around 9:30 a.m. when it was hit by a car going westbound on State Street.
The force of impact was significant. The four people from the mini-van and the driver of the car were all taken by paramedics to a local hospital for treatment.
The crash is still under investigation and no charges had been filed as of 3 p.m. Both directions of State Street were closed for several hours before being reopened to traffic by early afternoon.
