Former Stampede player Luke Jackson named coach of Northwest Christian

Published: February 21, 2013

Luke Jackson made a name for himself as a basketball player at the University of Oregon, and will begin his career in coaching at the Eugene university, which plays in the Cascade Conference, as does the College of Idaho. Jackson was a first-team All-American as a senior at Oregon before becoming the 10th overall pick in the 2004 NBA Draft. He later played for the Idaho Stampede and won a NBA Development League championship with Idaho in 2008. He was named a D-League All-Star in 2010. "I have had an amazing journey through my professional career as a basketball player," said Jackson, who was introduced by Northwest Christian on Wednesday. "But I'm excited for this to not be about me but about the players and how I can help them succeed on the court and in life."
