Team Idaho earns two victories at Simplot Games

Josh Wallin, who will be a senior at Rocky Mountain High, won the 400 meters for YMCA Team Idaho on Saturday at the 2013 Simplot Games at Holt Arena in Pocatello. Wallin won the event in 48.49 seconds. He also joined teammates Levi Hagen, Kade Ready and Conrad Larson in winning the sprint medley relay for Team Idaho in 3:33.34. Other notable finishes for YMCA Team Idaho were: Jordon Wallin in the boys 800 meters (second, 1:56.26); Aleksei Dingle in girls pole vault (fourth, 10 feet, 9 inches); Jalmer Ludwig in boys shot put (fifth, 51-5.50); Allison Jeffries in girls pole vault (sixth, 10-9) and 60-meter hurdles (eighth, 9.03); Anna Maki in girls triple jump (seventh, 37-7.25); Sam McKinnon in the girls 1,600 (ninth, 5:12.46); Khalil Oliver in the boys 60 hurdles (ninth, 8.28) and triple jump (12th, 43-02.50); Emily Hamlin in the girls 1,600 (10th, 5:15.16); Joe Giese in the boys 800 (10th, 2:00.83); Mikayla Malaspina in the girls 3,200 (12th,11:52.59); Ian Cavey in the boys 800 (12th, 2:01.37); Joseph Delgado in the boys 60 hurdles (12th, 8.42) and long jump (12th, 20-4.5); Marcel King in the boys triple jump (12th, 42-4); and the sprint medley relay team of Sara Christianson, Shanae Boully, Tracey Gordon and Dana Snell (fourth, 4:23.43). The 35th annual Simplot Games featured nearly 2,000 high school athletes from 24 states and two Canadian provinces.
