Sideline reporting: A real sweet gig

I've watched a few football games this year and decided to become one of those on-the-field reporters. How hard can that be?

Reporter: "Coach, your team is the underdog in this game. How do you feel about that?" Coach: (what he's thinking) "What a stupid question." (What he says, smiling) "We've worked hard on our fundamentals."

Reporter: "Coach, it's halftime and your team is down 89-0. How do you feel about that?" Coach: (what he's thinking) "Where did this jerk come from?" (What he says, smiling) "We're going to review our fundamentals."

Reporter: "Coach, your team lost the game 126-0. How do you feel about that?" Coach: (what he's thinking) "I'd like to take that microphone and …." (What he says, smiling) "We're going to come up with new fundamentals."

Maybe I'll also become a coach, then I can interview myself. How hard can that be?

Boise State gymnasts, wrestlers worth more

It's a shame that the No. 16-ranked BSU gymnasts and the No. 23-ranked wrestlers continue to get a very small section of the Sports section after their dramatic wins.

We love reading about all the local sports, but these two really don't get the press they should. For example, the Snedeker golfer should have been in the lower right hand corner of the Feb. 11 paper, with the gymnasts and wrestlers taking center stage.
