BSU women's tennis loses for first time this season

BYU defeated the Broncos 5-1 in Provo, Utah. The Cougars opened by sweeping all three doubles matches to earn the doubles point, the first that Boise State had given up this season. Sandy Vo won the Broncos' lone point.

BSU SOFTBALL: The Broncos split two games at the UTSA Classic in San Antonio, losing to Iowa State 9-4 before beating UTSA 9-6.

COLLEGE OF IDAHO WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: The Coyotes (19-7, 15-3 Cascade) closed out the regular season with a 56-47 victory over Warner Pacific in Portland. The win for the 17th-ranked Coyotes was their 13th in 15 games heading into the Cascade Conference tournament. The C of I will open quarterfinal play at home against No. 7-seeded Northwest Christian at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Ticket prices are $12 for reserved seating and $7 for general admission.

C OF I MEN'S BASKETBALL: The Coyotes (15-13, 11-7 CCC) fell to No. 12 Warner Pacific 69-56.

NORTHWEST NAZARENE WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: The Crusaders (18-4, 10-4 GNAC) fell to Alaska Anchorage 94-82 in Nampa.

NNU MEN'S BASKETBALL: Seattle Pacific beat the Crusaders 63-52 in Seattle. NNU fell to 10-13, and 4-11 in GNAC.

C OF I BASEBALL: Left-hander Garrett Wilson tossed seven innings of four-hit ball as Lewis-Clark State defeated the Coyotes 5-1 in Lewiston.

C OF I SOFTBALL: The Coyotes swept two games at the Northwest Cup in Clackamas, Ore., beating Willamette 3-0 and Puget Sound 6-1.

GNAC TRACK: Melissa (Grammer) Merioles won the women's 400 in a school-record 57.16 for Northwest Nazarene at the Great Northwest Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships in Nampa. Alaska Anchorage won the women's title and NNU was fourth. Western Washington won the men's title and NNU was fifth.
