Second annual Writers in the Attic Competition: Now through Friday, Feb. 22, submissions will be accepted for the second annual Writers in the Attic writing competition. This year's theme is "detour." Stories will be blind-judged by a local literary notable and published as part of the Writers in the Attic 2013 anthology. RECURRING EVENTS
Human Rights Book Club: A book club that is dedicated to reading and discussing topics relevant to the advancement of global human rights. Meets the second Thursday of every other month, at 7 p.m. at the Black History Museum. For March, the group will be reading "The Devil's Highway" by Luis Alberto Urrea.
