Young Writers' Group: Tuesday, Feb. 19, 4-5 p.m., Boise Public Library at Collister.

Taproot Reading Book Club: Tuesday, Feb. 19, 6:30–8 p.m. A book club with a different theme each quarter; come and experience a different kind of book club, Hyde Park Books in Boise.

The Caldwell Chapter of the Idaho Writers' League: Thursday, Feb. 21, 7-9 p.m., at the Caldwell Public Library.

Janet Worthington as Mary Hallock Foote: Thursday, Feb. 21, 7-8 p.m. A first-person narrative of an author and illustrator of the Old West. Boise Public Library Main Branch, Hayes Auditorium.

Second annual Writers in the Attic Competition: Now through Friday, Feb. 22, submissions will be accepted for the second annual Writers in the Attic writing competition. This year's theme is "detour." Stories will be blind-judged by a local literary notable and published as part of the Writers in the Attic 2013 anthology. Competition guidelines and submission forms can be found at www.TheCabinIdaho.org.

Writing Until I Get it Right: Friday, Feb. 22, 7–9 p.m., at Hastings at Fairview and Cole in Boise.

Saturday Storytime: Saturday, Feb. 23, 11 a.m. This week's theme will involve books all about dreams, Barnes & Noble, Boise.

Story Time with Justeen! Saturday, Feb. 23, 11 a.m.–12 p.m. Story time for children where reading is an escape from reality into worlds of adventure, Hyde Park Books in Boise.

Selah, an Idaho Christian Writers' Group: Monday, Feb. 25, 6:30-9 p.m., at Maui Wowi in Meridian.

Literature Discussion Book Club: Monday, Feb. 25, 7 p.m. This month's featured title is "The Woman Behind the New Deal" by Kristin Downey. Come and discuss the biography of Frances Perkins, Barnes & Noble, Boise.

Saturday Storytime: Saturday, March 2, 1 p.m. It's Dr. Suess's birthday! Come and celebrate this special event with us and help support St. Luke's Children's hospital. Stories will be read by Friends of St. Luke's, Barnes & Noble, Boise.

RECURRING EVENTS

Human Rights Book Club: A book club that is dedicated to reading and discussing topics relevant to the advancement of global human rights. Meets the second Thursday of every other month, at 7 p.m. at the Black History Museum. For March, the group will be reading "The Devil's Highway" by Luis Alberto Urrea.
