Boise business and tourism groups have formed a new alliance.
The Boise Metro Chamber of Commerce has signed a services agreement to partner with the Boise Convention and Visitors Bureau. Their goal is to focus and unify their strategy for promoting the Boise area.
The chamber said the partnership will cut costs and improve productivity through resources and less overlap in their activities. The bureau's offices will be located on the same floor as the chamber and the Boise Valley Economic Partnership starting next month.
"This is a partnership that has proven to yield great results in many cities across the country, and we look forward to bringing the same benefits here to Boise," said Bill Connors, president and CEO of the chamber.
John Beacham, chairman of the bureau, said the partnership is "a key point of our strategic plan to share a more focused and coordinated effort with all of the organizations that impact travel and tourism."
The bureau also is looking for a new executive director.
