The Boise Bench Lions Club provided services to the community in 2012 in many forms. They provided 36 pairs of eyeglasses, recycled 4400 pairs of used eye glasses, held vision and hearing screenings for about 300 elementary-aged children and provided a picnic for 65 students from the Idaho School for the Deaf and the Blind summer camp.
Additionally the club donated funds to various organizations such as the Idaho Eastern Oregon Lions Sight and Hearing Foundation, Chrysalis House, Christmas meals and gifts for several local families, Idaho Commission for the Blind and built several wheel chair ramps.
Life's Kitchen announced that the organization was awarded $1,500 by the Southwestern Region Greatest Need Fund from the Idaho Community Foundation. The funds were awarded so Life's Kitchen could continue to provide food service, life skills and employability training for our at-risk youth.
