The College of Idaho men's basketball team topped the Mountaineers 83-82 on Friday in La Grande, Ore. Eagle grad Ben Van Lith scored on a driving layup with 2 seconds left to give the C of I (14-12, 10-6 Cascade Conference) the win. It was the Coyotes' first win over a top-ranked team in four opportunities. Five Coyotes scored in double figures, led by 20 points from Sydney Donaldson and 19 from Taylor Pruett.
C OF I WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: The Coyotes lost to Eastern Oregon 60-50 in La Grande, Ore. Katelin Shannon led the C of I (17-7, 13-3 CCC) with 15 points.
C OF I BASEBALL: Antelope Valley shut out the Coyotes 8-0 in Lancaster, Calif. The C of I dropped to 1-3.
C OF I SOFTBALL: The Coyotes went 1-2 on the opening day of the Big League Dreams Invitational in Redding, Calif., losing to William Jessup 5-4 (9 innings) and Concordia-Irvine 5-4 (8 innings), then beating Menlo College 8-0.
BOISE STATE WOMEN'S TENNIS: The Broncos swept Idaho State 7-0 at the Boas Tennis Center as part of the Battle of Idaho. The Broncos (3-0) kept the Bengals from winning a single set.
