Boise State University today announced the appointment of Greg Hahn as associate vice president for communications and marketing.
Hahn will be responsible for marketing, branding, public relations and web for the university, effective March 5.
Hahn is host and producer of Idaho Reports. He also has moderated primary and general election debates for statewide contested races and written and produced for Outdoor Idaho. Before joining Idaho PTV, Hahn worked at the Idaho Statesman for 12 years, most recently as local news editor and as political and special projects reporter.
Hahn also has taught media law and ethics as an adjunct faculty member in Boise States Department of Communication and is former chair and a current member of the board that oversees The Arbiter, Pulse Radio and other student media on campus.
While at the Statesman, Hahn managed state and local news reporters, helped redesign the newsroom to integrate online distribution in response to readers changing demands, and helped lead a company-wide innovation effort to rethink all aspects of the business. He also wrote and edited stories on the Larry Craig scandal as part of a Statesman team that was named a Pulitzer Prize finalist.
Hahn earned his master of arts in journalism at New York University.
