Nampa man’s death ruled a homicide

Published: February 8, 2013

Canyon County Sheriff's deputies are investigating the homicide of a Nampa man who died from multiple gunshot wounds.

The victim, George Richardson Jr., 59, was found inside his home on the 1900 block of S. Powerline Road just after 2 p.m. Thursday.

Canyon County Sheriff’s deputies are asking for the public’s help to find Richardson's vehicle, which appears to have been stolen. The 1997 Jeep Wrangler is red with a black top and has distinctive tires and rims. License plates that were originally thought to be on the vehicle have been removed. It’s unknown what plates, if any, are currently on the vehicle.

Investigators are following several leads in the case and are working to determine a motive.

Anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers at 343-2677 or Canyon County Sheriff’s Office at 454-7531.

Investigators also said they have no reason to believe there is a connection between Richardson's death and a stabbing and shooting that occurred near Richardson's home Wednesday night.

Police were sent to a home in the 2300 block of Florence Street, which is located in the Greenhurst and Powerline roads neighborhood, around 10 p.m. Wednesday.

Nampa police say a man confronting a stranger in the backyard of a friend’s house was stabbed and then shot with his own gun before the attacker ran away.

Paramedics took the victim to a local hospital for treatment of what police say are non life-threatening injuries.
