Go Do It: Boise Philharmonic’s ‘Silent movies’

Published: February 8, 2013

If a picture is worth a thousand words, then a picture with musical accompaniment must be worth a million. And when you put Charlie Chaplin and Buster Keaton on the screen, they’re also worth a million laughs. See four silent classics at the Boise Philharmonic’s “Silent Movies.” Each will be shown with original scores composed by Ben Model, one of the world’s foremost silent film organists, and played by Model and an orchestra. On the screen, you’ll see Chaplin’s “The Immigrant,” Keaton’s “Cops” (pictured, a tour de force for the physical comedian), plus two other films.
